Miss O x Netflix & All the Gratitude
November 22, 2018
Hey #ShiningStarrs!!! I pray that you are all well and that you are ready to enjoy an amazing Thanksgiving Day, however you choose to celebrate it...or not. LOL It's been about two months and as usual, sooo much has happened in that short bit of time! I am so grateful for all that I have been blessed to do and experience since we last touched base and what better day to share than on the day we all give thanks!
Our short film Shh... has had quite a fall season and we are still reeling off of the showing we had at Allen Maldanado's Everybody Digital Film Festival, where our leading man, Lamar K. Cheston was nominated for Best Actor! We are also waiting to lock in the dates and times for a public run of Shh... at Stuart Cinema & Cafe as a perk of being a part of the Ocktober Film Festival! If you have yet to visit Stuart Cinemas, make your way there! It's amazing and the first movie theatre in NY State owned by a woman and Afro-Latina!
Early this month I was blessed to fly myself and a few amazing actors out to Orlando and shoot my latest short film, THEM. I am so thankful to all of the friends and family that donated to help us make this happen! My Executive Producer James Hunter of the company 1st Dibz Films was amazing and such a resource to us in a strange city, and all thanks to my two Co-EP's Alan Greenstein of #SupportOurCreatives and my mother, Constance Knight, for helping to fund this endeavor and get this story told. I cannot wait to see the work that my team and I created.

THEM is the story of a mother and daughter fighting to break the cycle of poor maternal relationships in the family after the death of the family patriarch. THEM stars Tamiko White, Mel Roberson, Erin Sanderson and myself. Directed by me and Amanda Marquis with Assistant Director Jemier Jenkins, we expect to begin submitting to festivals early 2019.
And last but certainly not least, I started a new gig this month. I am presently the new Creative Producer and Production Manager for Netflix's comedic platform Netflix Is A Joke, across all social platforms! The chance to create with my amazing team and streamline the output of these social assets, as well as contribute to the weekly writer's rooms has been incredible and I am very excited by the work we are churning out. Please be sure to follow us on IG, Twitter and like us on Facebook!
So as I pull up on my 40th birthday this December 23rd, I am so thankful for all of the above. But I am most grateful for YOU! So many of you send me messages, texts, emails and show so much love. Every time you reach out, check up on me, congratulate me, and/or encourage me, it gives me that little extra boost to keep going. And for each of you that I have had the pleasure to do the same for, I hope that the boost is mutual. We are all in this thing together family. And my progress wouldn't be as precious if it did not impact, inspire and allow me to share with all of you. So on this Thanksgiving, know that I give thanks for you and your space in my life, whatever that may be.
Have an amazing day, week and weekend FRAMILY! And as always, I'm here if you need me!

Truly with thanks,
~ Miss O
