    Reach Inside Yourself

    May 3, 2018

Hey Shining Starrs! I pray that you are all mentally, physically, emotionally and financially awesome!

This week I want to talk about reaching inside yourself for what you need. I know that many times life can be HARD, HEAVY and HELLISH. The process of waking up every day and facing the good, the bad, the ugly and the seemingly intolerable/impossible is ROUGH. And I know for me personally, being in the business I am in, scrutiny, rejection and sometimes the feeling of being exiled and ostracized can hurt and be so harmful to my growth and progress.

However, I am learning to make "NO" an external force. It's going to be said. It's going to come when we least expect it and when we don't want to hear it. People will say we are not whatever enough for a "yes," for their approval, or for their affirmation of whatever you are doing and working towards. And yes, honestly there are just times when life comes at you hard and fast and you have to just steel yourself to take the blow.

That level of resillience and resistance requires a very grounded stance. And let's be real, sometimes that ish just ain't there! But it is in those times you must do two things. Whatever your faith practices are, these are the moments they will best serve you. Leaning on whatever you use to support positivity - be it prayer, chanting, mantras, meditation, affirmations, etc. For me it's prayer. I am a non-denominational Christian and my ability to call on God and Jesus when I am fearful, anxious, repentant or whatever, makes things much less difficult for me. Albeit, the challenge is still a challenge lol.

But the other thing I am learning to do is to reach inside myself and hold my own hand. Only I am privy to what I have endured. Although I may share my experiences with others, only I know first hand how those things made me feel and what I have overcome thus far. The same goes for you. So when you can reach inside yourself and recall a moment of triumph, when you can hold yourself in celebration for overcoming what you thought could or would break you, there is your true super power!  That is the moment that you have to hold your own hand and pull yourself out of the weeds.

Like anything, it takes practice. It is so easy to be consumed by emotion, fear, worry and pain. It is less work to operate from a state of "why me," and to be in a space of victim versus victor. But what does that do for you but pull you further into the darkness attempting to consume you anyway?! NOTHING!
Even if you start small...start. Own that you possess the power to win and overcome. Own that it is ok to seek council from the right people and places, as they will help you with this. Own that YOU are where the healing lies.

To help you get there, here are a few things you can say out loud to help push urself forward. These are just a few affirmations.  And I do implore that if you are feel overwhelmed to the point that you are thinking of harming yourself or someone else, please contact a mental health professional or 9-1-1 immediately.  As helping yourself and holding your own hand, is also inclusive of acquiescing to professional assistance when you are in need of it, at whatever level.

    Love speak...TO you, FROM you!

I am human and flawed. I accept my imperfections and won't allow them to be limitations. I know, I grow, I go...forward.

When life comes at me, people come for me or things happen to me and I feel burried...I must remember that I am a seed and I am never burried...only planted.

I am the lender, not the borrower...above and not beneath...the head and not the tail.

I possess all I that need to attract genuine love, genuine friendship, integrity based monetary gains and a good life.

I am my own cheerleader. I am the lithium battery in my own back that will never die out.

I choose happy. It is a choice and one that I am making for ME.

I am all things ENUFF. #IAmMOOREthanEnuff
