Miss O is up for Best Actress!
April 24, 2018

Hey #ShiningStarrs! I pray that you are all living your best lives this pending Spring and forgiving you and yours for whatever meant that you were not living your best life before. Spring is the season of restoration and new beginnings and I am so in that space!!!
Ok, there are soooo many updates for me to give you guys, so I'm pacing these posts to not drive you guys crazy.
The first is, OMG, I am nominated for Best Actress at the Las Vegas Black Film Festival THIS WEEKEND!!! I literally had no clue at all, then a great friend text me a congrats and I was so confused. LOL However, upon further investigation, it was definitely true and I am considerably humbled and grateful. I have been whining for years that no one 'sees' me as an actress, and have always felt a bit insecure about my acting as it is perceived by others. So this was a quite triumphant moment.
Even more exciting, as it's not just about me, is that the short I'm nominated for, Stalk His Ass, is up for Best Web Series as well. Written, directed and produced by Cinematherapist Shauntay Cherry, Stalk His Ass is part two of her three-part series. I was the lead in part one, The Haggler and am the lead in part two, Stalk, as well as a co-producer on the project. To make it even more amazing, our other project, Silent Cries: The Prelude (which is presently 23 film festivals, seven screening series four nominations and two awards in), is up for another FIVE awards here at LVBFF. I am also honored to be a producer on that project as well. See below for the full Heart of David nominations list and if you happen to be in the LV area, stop in and check us out Saturday, April 28th 12:30pm PST for Stalk His Ass and 2:15pm PST for Silent Cries.
We are also excited about Silent Cries cast member Stephen Cofield, Jr. and his film Rolling In the Deep as he is up for Best Actor. Friend to the blog Stephen Hill's film Shakey Dog is screening in our block as well!
