Along with these great shows, my other projects are pushing along as well. I had the privilege of co-hosting #BlerdDating on Twitter last week with the amazing Lena Waithe! #BlerdDating is an amazing Monday night live feed show via Twitter, where celebs come and talk to us about their work, love, relationships, etc. I will be doing a piece on the ladies this summer on the blog, so stay tuned and join the convo every Monday on Twitter using the hashtag #BlerdDating at 9pm EST.
The short I produced, Silent Cries: The Prelude has gotten into it's SIXTH festival in the last two months and has been nominated for Best Short, Best Director (Shauntay Cherry) and Best Editing (Tony Clomax). The pilot I was the 2nd AD on last year, Up North, just swept Series Fest in Denver. Indiewire wrote an amazing piece on it that you can read HERE. The BRIC TV pilot I produced, SoleKings is in post and it's looking really amazing. You can catch it on October 4th on BRIC TV and the station's YouTube channel. And lastly, the documentary I'm working on (Director, Producer), Conversations with Black Women in America, Vol 1: Brooklyn, has completed principal photography!!! We are applying for a few grants to get post production help and our editor starts piecing it all together come the fall. This project is so important to me. The passion and transparency the participants have brought to the table made me and my partner Krishna Davenport so happy!
I have two short films that I've written that I will be looking to fund this fall and winter. And most exciting...my children's book is finally in play. My goal is to have it to an editor by my birthday! It's for little boys and I think it will bless some mom's too!
Thanks as always for riding thru this life with me. You are truly my #ShiningStarrs and I am only glowing as bright as I am because of you!
