Hey Shining Starrs. I pray that you are all well and have been since our list check-in! I wanted to let you all know that this Saturday, June 10th at The Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building In Harlem, at 4:45pm, I will be a panelist for an amazing organization that promotes entrepreneurs of color. Women In the Black will host their 19th Annual Who's the Boss Women's Business Conference and I will be on the Celebration Circle Panel to share my story and some tips on how to make your dreams happen.
I love speaking on panels and especially to women of color. I lived in the corporate world for years and although I was well-paid, my soul was bankrupt. I vowed that I would depart and do what I wanted and I knew that with my true faith, I'd garner God's favor and be blessed to do what I love. It's not been easy. It is often challenging and I want to quit at times. But, I know better. I know that my purpose is to be an actor, writer and producer. I also know that my destiny is to help others see and achieve their own dreams as well.
If you are anyone you know will be in the NY Metro Area, the conference is free and all are welcome. Please click HERE to see the video on the event and to register or get more info go to WomenInTheBlack.org.
Lastly, I was on the production team for this season of Oprah's Master Class on OWN and on Saturday, June 10th, after I leave the conference, I will head downtown to watch the premier episode with my director. The first Master this season is Kevin Hart and I'm so excited, as we had a ball working on this episode. Especially with shooting the dramatic illustrations. Watch the trailer HERE and check your local listings to see the episode!
Stay tuned Shining Starrs and keep GLOWING! I have tons coming up, including a fundraiser event to celebrate dads and another of my projects being accepted into not one but TWO film festivals this summer.
