    MtE Acknowledges World AIDS Day

    December 1, 2015

Today is World AIDS Day.  As someone who has lost a close family member to this disease, I know firsthand how important it is to not only know YOUR status but that of your sexual partners.  In this day and age, people with HIV and AIDS are living full, happy and progressive lives.  There are many meds that can reduce if not nullify symptoms.  However, HIV/AIDS is a completely preventable disease.

Knowing your status and that of your partners can absolutely help keep everyone safe and keep the disease from spreading. There are testing centers all over that offer free screenings.  You can also get an at-home kit.  However, don’t believe the myths - the disease does not discriminate by race, gender or sexual orientation, and there is no such thing as “looking healthy.”

Get tested, know your status and make sure the only thing you are spreading is love!

For more info on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, check out fellow Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. member and friend, AIDS/HIV Activist Hydeia Broadbent at www.hydeiabroadbent.com.  And to support an amazing company that hugely advocates for AIDS/HIV and other amazing charities, (and to purchase some amazing gear to show your support for the causes) hit up Human Intonation humanintonation.com owned and operated by my good friend and D9 Sister Verneda A. White!

MOOREthanEnuff Media supports the recognition of World AIDS Day, sends prayers and love to all of those affected and encourages our Shining Starrs to act responsibly so that they can continue to shine their light!
